It’s around Spring when many people consider a bit of a tidy-up in the dietary department. Be it that they are carrying a bit of winter weight or that the warmer Spring air is so much more motivating than the Winter chill – whatever the case, I always have an influx of interest in clean-eating or detoxing come Spring.
But guess what the most popular recipes are? Salads, meals, smoothies – nope CHOCOLATE! Actually, any time of the year chocolate recipes are popular, but Spring time, my chocolate recipes go into meltdown. I think it maybe that people looking at cleaning up their diets are after a healthier option to replace a processed chocolate habit (I’m just speculating here). Whatever the reason, guilt-free ways to satisfy chocolate cravings are hot right now.
So whilst I’d rather put a list of my favourite salads together, I thought (as a treat for you) I’d put together a master list of my favourite chocolate treats…all are refined sugar and wheat-free and of course catering for many common allergens. So here we go, I’ve got your chocolate cravings covered with eight guilt-free chocolate recipes for all kinds of chocolate lovers…
Basic Raw chocolate recipe – This is a great replacement for a good old block of chocolate. It’s raw, vegan, dairy, gluten, grain, egg and nut-free with variation for low-fructose too. Try the peppermint version – so good (if you like peppermint).
For – dark or peppermint chocolate lovers
Cacao Rough – I think these are a cross between a Coconut Rough and a Chocolate Crackle. It’s raw, vegan, dairy, gluten, egg and grain-free with variation for low-fructose too. They are really quick, easy and fuss-free to make.
For – Coconut Rough or Nutella (hazelnut) chocolate lovers.
Berry Nice Brownie – These have ben so popular, especially for kids school lunches (nut-free and they hide a serve of vegetables). They are dairy, gluten, grain and nut-free with variation for low-fructose too.
For – Brownie lovers or a decadent dessert.
Self Saucing Chocolate Puddings – exactly as the name suggests, but way less sugar than the original. It is nut-free and the recipe has variations for dairy, gluten and grain-free as well as low-fructose.
For – Pudding lovers, a decadent dessert.
Protein Power Bars – a nutrient dense no-bake bar. It’s raw, gluten, egg and grain-free with variation for dairy-free, vegan and low-fructose too.
For – Active kids and adults looking for an energy and protein dense snack. Great to keep in the freezer to grab-and-go.
Mint Chocolate Fudge – A personal favourite because I just love anything mint. It’s raw, vegan, dairy, gluten, egg and grain-free with variation for low-fructose too.
For – Mint chocolate lovers and a lovely after dinner treat.
Chocolate, almond and coconut bars – Such a delicious, rich treat. It’s raw, vegan, dairy, gluten, egg and grain-free with variation for low-fructose too.
For – choc-nut lovers. A little goes a long way.
Chocolate cookies – this base cookie mix makes healthy tiny teddies, mint slice and Oreo cookies. It’s nut-free with a spelt base. Includes variations for gluten and dairy-free and for low-fructose too.
For – kids lunch box snacks.
Choc-chip cookies – These are the easiest, yummiest choc-chip cookies ever. They are grain, gluten, dairy and egg-free and really delicious.
For – kids after school or when you need a snack that can be made really fast.
Top-Deck Gummies – A gelatin based treat for a little gut healing whilst satisfying your chocolate craving. You can make both layers or just the chocolate layer. They are dairy, gluten, egg and grain-free with variation for low-fructose too.
For – those who love a gummy-like treat or those after some gut support whilst indulging.
Healthy Chocolate Crackles – this recipe is my healthy take on a chocolate crackle and also includes a grain-free version. It’s raw, vegan, dairy and gluten-free with variation for low-fructose too.
